The first day of the new edition of South Summit came to an end yesterday after a day full of interesting presentations. This year we attended the sixth edition of this meeting for entrepreneurs , held in the Madrid space of La Nave , and which will last until Friday. It is also organized by South Summit Spain Startup together with IE University and the Madrid City Council , and has BBVA , Endesa , Wayra , Sabadell and Google as main sponsors . During the afternoon, we attended a multitude of presentations on how to lead a hyper-growth company , or how to stay ahead of your competitors thanks to innovation. One of the most notable presentations, for example, was that of Paul Misener , VP, Global Innovation Policy and Communications at Amazon . In the course of it, he pointed out that AI and Machine Learning “are going to change all aspects of our lives, including learning. You will learn with other tools and not with the most basic ones .”
Paul Misener Misener also believes that “now it is politicians who must take a common position on AI without stifling innovation , but limiting the limits.” In this sense, he in turn demanded "an international Taiwan Phone Number List agreement to regulate machines against their possible criminal use ." On the other hand, Valentin Stalf led a panel explaining how to lead a hyper-growth company. The CEO and founder of N26 highlighted, as soon as he began his presentation, that “in a startup the moments of celebration are few, because when you get more funds you have to invest them in things that you couldn't do before .” Next, he had a few words about competition within the entrepreneurial sector , indicating that “ we never look at traditional competition , but at other actors like Google , Apple and Amazon .” Finally, he wanted to talk about the jump recently made by his company to the American market.
Ensuring that “regulation in the United States is more complicated than when we started in Germany, whose rules allowed us to grow quickly. Legislators in Europe are more open to changes in order to grow .” Valentin Stalf Another of the most interesting testimonies of the meeting came from Carmen de Campo , Director of Innovation at Mutua Madrileña . In this way, she wanted to highlight that “there are two different trends in insuretech : the first is related to technology , as is the case of blockchain , and the second is changing customer expectations .” However, this series of interesting presentations is not the only attraction of South Summit . In this sense, yesterday the winning startups of the Startup Competition in 5 verticals came to light . Among them, we have Jubel in Travel ; Influencity in Marketing & Content ; EPICA at Cutting Edge Technologies ; Bdeo in Fintech & Insurtech and StreamLoots in Consumer Solutions .
